Fairfax County SEPTA and Fairfax County Council PTA (FCCPTA) are excited to announce that they have been given the opportunity to partner in the work of the 22-23 National PTA Family-School Partnerships Challenge Grant! They will join Durham Council of PTAs (North Carolina), Montgomery County Council PTA (Alabama), Montgomery County Council PTA (Maryland), Florida PTA, Illinois PTA, New Mexico PTA, New York PTA, Tennessee PTA, and Utah PTA as the 10 communities chosen for this opportunity. You can see the announcement from National PTA here.
As part of this grant, both PTAs will send a representative to monthly meetings with the national cohort, participate in a virtual town hall in November, and collaborate with each other to identify opportunities and goals for strengthening Family-School Partnerships in FCPS. This is a continuation of the work that SEPTA began last year with the Family-School Partnerships Pilot Program. We are excited to partner with FCCPTA and delve deeper into the work of fostering family engagement in our community. Stay tuned to our website, social media, and membership meetings throughout the year for updates!
