Thank you to all who attended our meeting last night! We worked through a lot of business, and then had a fantastic presentation from Beth Felsen on “Transition to Adulthood – It’s Never too Early to Start!” Her practical tips for building independence, self-advocacy, and emotional regulation skills (and more) in children of all ages were very helpful! If you weren’t able to attend last night, please keep an eye on our YouTube Channel – we will post the recording of the meeting & presentation there as soon as possible.
As part of our PTA business last night, SEPTA’s membership considered 3 critical motions:
- The adoption of our 21-22 Financial Review
- The adoption of the proposed 2022-2023 budget
- The adoption of the proposed 2022-2023 Advocacy Priorities Statement
We did have more than quorum (10 members) present, and each motion passed. You can find our 2022-2023 Budget under “Resources>SEPTA Documents” on our website, and the 2022-2023 Advocacy Priorities under “Advocacy>SEPTA Official Position Statements”. Per Virginia PTA Bylaws, our financial review was submitted by August 1, and last night’s vote to accept the review completes our annual compliance requirements.
